Autographed photo being sold of Mets' Flores crying

To say that New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores rode a roller coaster of emotions around the MLB trade deadline a few weeks ago would be a huge understatement. Now fans can relive his emotional breakdown in the dugout over and over again courtesy of an autographed photo being offered up for sale by memorabilia outfit Steiner Sports.

Listed as “Wilmer Flores Autographed ‘Crying in Dugout’,” the photo depicts Flores coming to tears in the Mets dugout upon learning he was being shipped to the Milwaukee Brewers — along with Zack Wheeler — for center fielder Carlos Gomez in a trade that ultimately never occurred.

This 8×10 photo has been personally hand-signed by Mets’ star Wilmer Flores. With a script that could not be duplicated in Hollywood, New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores turned an emotional moment in the field into an unforgettable one in the batter’s box with a walk-off home run in the summer on July 31, 2015.

The prized piece of memorabilia is selling for $69.99 (without frame) and $139.99 (with frame).

In the game I heard I was getting traded, and I got emotional, and when I came in, they told me there was no trade,” Flores said after the ill-fated game on July 29. “I was sad, being a Met forever, I have all my teammates here, that’s why I got emotional.”

Flores of course remained a Met and as mentioned in the item’s description, hit a walk-off homer a few days later. It’s worth noting that Steiner Sports also is selling autographed photos of that magical moment as well, one Flores surely enjoyed more than his down-in-the-dumps dugout experience.
