Aybar heaves bats in effort to wake up Angels' hitting - and it works

With the Los Angeles Angels having hit a bit of a rough patch offensively, the team was desperate for runs. They wound up scoring four on Wednesday, three of them coming in a furious ninth-inning rally and the other coming on a booming Kole Calhoun homer in the fourth. The homer ended a 17-inning scoreless streak and was probably met with a chorus of relieved sighing from the bench. 

Prior to the game, the team was looking for ANYTHING that could help get them going as a unit - so shortstop Erick Aybar took out the team's frustrations on the bats, heaving the lumber out of the bat rack and onto the dugout floor:

It's only one game, but that dramatic 'rally the troops' tactic worked - so perhaps Aybar will try it again before the Halos' next game. Baseball players are superstitious, you know...
