Blue Jays' Stroman to do 'everything in my power' to keep Price
Sometimes, just a little isn't enough.
Since trading for David Price at the trade deadline, the Toronto Blue Jays have been reenergized, giving them their much-needed ace.
The only downside is that Price's contract expires at the end of this season. He will likely enter the free agent market seeking a $200 million deal, similar to what Max Scherzer received prior to 2015 with the Washington Nationals.
That's not stopping his teammate Marcus Stroman from trying to get him to stay.
"He does wonders for us, on and off the field," said Stroman in an interview with CBC News. "I'm going to do everything in my power to get him back here for sure."
Pitching in a Jays uniform, Price has been nearly unhittable, tossing 74 1/3 innings with a 2.30 ERA and 87 strikeouts.
