Braun added to All-Star roster
Ryan Braun has been named to his sixth career All-Star team.
The Brewers outfielder was named to the National League squad on Sunday as an injury replacement for Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday.
"It's late notice, but any time you're an All-Star, you earned it," Brewers manager Craig Counsell told Brewers.com. "I'm thrilled for him. Six All-Star Games is pretty incredible, and I know it means a lot to him."
Braun had been planning a vacation for the All-Star break, but will now alter his plans to go to the All-Star Game.
"It's a good problem to have," Braun said. "I think logistically, it makes things a little more challenging with a 10-month-old baby, but a good problem to have. It's a tremendous honor to go to the All-Star Game again. It's something I'm really proud of, something that's extremely difficult to do, and I'm really looking forward to it."
