Braves recall OF Bourjos from Triple-A, release RHP Blair
ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Braves have recalled outfielder Peter Bourjos and released right-handed pitcher Aaron Blair.
Bourjos started the season with the Braves, but was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett after going 3-of-25 (.120) at the plate. He had to spend at least 30 days in the minors before he was eligible to be recalled, so he couldn't come up Monday when Ronald Acuna Jr. went on the disabled list.
Dustin Peterson was promoted instead.
Peterson was optioned back to Gwinnett on Thursday when Bourjos reached the 30-day limit. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Braves released Blair.
Once regarded as one of the team's top pitching prospects, Blair went 2-8 with a 7.89 ERA in 16 starts over the last two seasons. He started this year in the minors but quickly went down with season-ending shoulder surgery.
