Altanta Braves rookie Williams Perez will return to the rotation and start Friday night's game at the Philadelphia Phillies.
Perez, sidelined since taking a line drive off the right foot on June 26, will take the starting slot of left-hander Alex Wood, who was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
The 24-year-old Venezuelan is 4-0 with a 2.88 ERA in 11 appearances (eight starts) and has notched all four victories along with a save in his last seven outings. He tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings of one-hit ball Sunday in a rehab start at Triple-A Gwinnett.
