Oakland Athletics pitcher Kendall Graveman was perfect through six innings against the Texas Rangers before a single by Carlos Gomez broke up the perfect game bid at O.co Coliseum on Friday night.

Dallas Braden remains the last A's pitcher to throw a perfect game when he defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4–0 on May 9, 2010.

The last perfect game thrown in the major leagues belongs to Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners in a 1–0 win over the Rays on Aug. 15, 2010.

The Texas Rangers fell victim to a perfect game in the past as Mike Witt faced just 27 hitters on September 30, 1984.

Graveman entered Friday night's game with a 4.07 ERA and 10–10 record.
