Jon Lester's issues throwing to first base are well documented. The lefty can make pinpoint pitches but ask him to hold a runner at first, and it becomes an adventure.
The issue reared its ugly head again Sunday. Brandon Barnes tried to bunt his way on, and the ball trickled back to the mound. Lester pounced on ball, then did the safest thing he could do â throw the ball directly into the ground and watch it bounce toward first base.
