Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks left Saturday’s NLDS Game 2 against the Giants after taking a line drive off the right arm in the top of the fourth inning.
San Francisco outfielder Angel Pagan struck a pitch at 94 mph off the bat back at the righthander Hendricks, who took it off the forearm of his throwing arm. The ball ricocheted to his right, and he threw it to first after tracking it down, unable to beat the runner.
Lefthander Travis Wood came on in relief with Chicago ahead, 4–2.
