Cubs World Series parade reportedly drew one of the largest crowds ever recorded

It's not often that 108 years of history is broken  but that's what happened this week as the Cubs took home their first World Series championship since 1908. And boy, did Chicago celebrate in style.

We've shown you pictures of Friday's Cubs' parade and how the Chicago River was even dyed blue - and now we can get you a semi-authoritative number on how many were in attendance.

According to multiple reports, somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 million people attended the parade.

Obviously there is no true way to corroborate that number but looking at pictures, it seems feasible.

And if that number is accurate, it would be the 7th most-attended event in the history of recorded mankind.

It sounds insane but Fox 32 in Chicago had a full list and here are the top 10:

1. Kumbh Mela pilgrimage, India, 2013 - 30 million

2. Arbaeen festival, Iraq, 2014 - 17 million

3. Funeral of CN Annadurai, India, 1969 - 15 million

4. Funeral of Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran, 1989 - 10 million

5. Papal gathering in the Philippines, 2015 - 6 million

6. World Youth Day, 1995 - 5 million

7. Chicago Cubs World Series celebration - 5 million

8. Funeral of Gamal Abdel Nasser, 1970 - 5 million

9. Rod Stewart concert, Brazil, 1994 - 3.5 million

10. Hajj pilgrimage, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, 2012 - 3 million

Who knew Brazil loved Rod Stewart THAT much? And how incredible is 5-million(ish) people to celebrate a World Series title?

Whether it's in the Top 10 or not, it really was a day to remember in Chicago for the millions who were in attendance.
