Daniel Murphy fakes out Yoenis Cespedes on this brilliant play, then smirks at him

Daniel Murphy was the New York Mets playoff star last year, but now he seems intent on tormenting his former club.

The Washington Nationals second baseman got the better of Yoenis Cespedes in the second inning, faking him out with a heads-up play. With Cespedes on first, Neil Walker hit a line drive over Murphy's head and into right-center field. But instead of Murphy leaping in vain for the smash, he pretended to catch the ball and throw to first.

When Cespedes saw Murphy's reaction, he froze instead of heading to second and potentially making it to third base. The heads-up play kept Cespedes on second base.

Murphy, who homered in the first off Matt Harvey, added insult to injury, smirking at his former teammate.
