David Price offers high praise of Toronto's atmosphere

David Price has pitched in some big games.

As a rookie in 2008, he pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays out of the bullpen, becoming a rookie sensation in two appearances in the World Series.

According to Price, the atmosphere of those games have nothing on the Toronto Blue Jays.

"I've pitched in quite a few big games, but that atmosphere today, that takes the cake," Price told MLB.com after making his first appearance with the Blue Jays. "I've never experienced anything like that."

He tossed eight innings, striking out 11 in a 5-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. Those 11 strikeouts were a Toronto record for strikeouts in a debut.

"It's definitely special to get a strikeout as a pitcher, and it is the best feeling to have," said Price. "But I'd rather be able to get 27 outs."

The fans in Toronto are certainly invigorated by the big trade deadline acquisitions and the team is feeding off of that - they're 5-0 since the acquisition of Troy Tulowitzki.
