Edwin Encarnacion hit an even bigger bomb than Bryce Harper

If the baseball world had a sore neck from trying to follow Bryce Harper's moonshot home run Wednesday, well, it might go on the DL after watching Edwin Encarnacion go yard.

That 471-foot home run at Arizona's Chase Field is the longest by the Toronto Blue Jays this season.

"That was the loudest ball I've ever witnessed live in a stadium, by far," Toronto's Marcus Stroman said. "I was under (in the clubhouse) and I ran out and saw where it landed. It was pretty special. He's the man."

It was Encarnacion's 26th home run of the season and ninth in his past eight games at Chase.

"I haven't seen many like that," manager John Gibbons said. "He rakes it in this place."

Only three players have more homers of 450-plus feet than Encarnacion in the past five years.

Harper isn't one of them, but he added to his total with this 451-foot shot.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
