Hiroshima baseball team commemorates 70th anniversary of bombing with special jerseys
The Hiroshima Carp honored the 70th anniversary of the nuclear bomb attack on their city Wednesday night, wearing commemorative jerseys and holding a pregame ceremony.
The bombing took place on August 6, 1945, so the Carp wore special No. 86 jerseys to pay tribute to the important date in their city's history. The jerseys had the words "PEACE" on the chest and "HIROSHIMA" on the back.
