Indians fan ditches class for World Series, gets the best response from professor

An Ohio University student named Charlie got a sweet surprise from his dad earlier this week: tickets to Game 1 of the World Series in Cleveland for Charlie and his brother.

The only problem: Charlie had class that night.

So he did what any resourceful college student would do in this dilemma. He checked into class, handed his homework to another student to turn in for him and then quietly dipped out to go to the game.

When his professor took attendance at the end of class, though, Charlie wasn't there. He later got this email (via Charlie's Twitter):

A good and honest person, Charlie came clean in response to his professor:

Thankfully, R. Damian Nance -- a native of the U.K. who looks like a chill guy -- understood the situation and surprised Charlie with this response:

Give R. Damian Nance the Professor of the Year honors now, Ohio University. This race is over.
