Is Bryant already changing positions?
Kris Bryant hasn't even been in the Major Leagues for a month, but he may already be on his way to learning a new position.
With Dexter Fowler nursing an injury, Bryant – a third baseman – started Thursday's game in centerfield.
“Third base is the position I want to get better at,” Bryant told Cubs.com. “When guys go down, other guys step up, and I'm here to fill that hole when needed and Dexter [Fowler] will be back soon.”
While Bryant may not be making a full-time switch to the outfield just yet, don't rule it out for the future as outfield has long been rumored as an area where Bryant may spend the bulk of his career.
In the meantime, Bryant is still getting used to life in the Majors.
"It's been fun," Bryant said. "Now it's settling into a routine, and I really want to be another guy in the locker room and try to help the team win. I don't want to be bigger than anybody else here. It's been fun, a dream come true."
