John Rocker: 'Survivor' was 'worse than I expected'

The CBS show "Survivor" is featuring a familiar face to baseball fans this season. Former Atlanta Braves closer John Rocker is in the competitive reality series, which begins its 29th season on Sept. 24, and he opened up about the experience this week.

The pitcher, who made more than $5 million in his baseball career, had to survive in a remote area in Nicaragua as part of the show. While we'll have to watch the show to find out how long Rocker survived, he says it was a difficult experience.

"Seeing how staged and for-the-camera a lot of reality shows are and what they're trying to create, I just assumed 'Survivor' was going to be the same," Rocker told CBSSports.com. "I was wrong. I was really shocked to find out what you see is what you get. It's pretty straightforward.
