Chicago White Sox catcher Alex Avila has not successfully stolen a base since 2012 although he has tried and failed four times in the three-plus seasons since.
Another way of saying he's not exactly a running threat, so it appears Justin Verlander was having some fun with his pickoff move after his former Tigers teammate took a short lead off first base on Sunday.

Avila will have to break his stolen base futility streak against someone else, or at least when it's not a one-run game.
