Justin Verlander gives up HR to little brother Ben, will never hear the end of it
Here's something Justin Verlander won't live down easily. The first time little brother Ben Verlander, an outfielder in the Tigers' minor-league system, faced his six-time All-Star older brother, he hit a home run.
This occurred during Verlander's final spring tuneup before going to the mound in the Tigers' season opener against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
"One epic swing for him," Justin Verlander told MLive.com. "I'm sure I'm going to be hearing about it. I might be glad I'm getting out of town."
Yup... Little bro got me. Shoulda hit him. ? @Verly32 https://t.co/sylT1BplX8

In fact, if Ben has any say in this, Justin is never going to hear the end of it.
"This will be a family story forever and ever," Ben Verlander told MLive.com Thursday evening. "It was awesome. I've said from the day I started playing baseball that if I ever face Justin that I'm going to take him deep. So for it to actually happen was amazing."
Score one for little brothers everywhere.
