Kris Bryant homer sets off wrestling match outside Wrigley Field

Chicago Cubs' Kris Bryant hit a stunner of a solo home run against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday -- his fourth dinger in seven games.

Even more impressive, however, may have been the wrestling match that it sparked when the ball went beyond the left-field bleachers of Wrigley Field.

As Bryant was rounding the bases, three men were standing on the sidewalk ready to catch the ball as it descended upon Waveland Avenue.

Bryant had no idea.

The guy in the black shirt and newsboy cap appeared to have gloved it, but he may have been obscured by the tree and the young man next to him, because the ball then bounced to the ground, which gave the man in black no choice but to throw his body on it like a grenade to claim it as his own.

The two other men then joined him on the sidewalk in an apparent attempt to wrest the ball away. But the man in black remained fastidious on the sidewalk, laying still on the ground until the assault was over.

The Cubs beat the Phillies 6-2.
