Listen to David Ortiz's special wake-up call for young Red Sox fans

After a long summer vacation, no one wants to face the reality of early morning wake-up calls during the upcoming school year. Except, that is, for young Red Sox fans.

Thanks to a partnership between the Boston Public Schools and the Red Sox, middle school and high school students now will have the option of being awaken by David Ortiz each morning. It’s an initiative to help curb chronic absenteeism and tardiness in Boston’s schools.

Here’s what young fans can expect when Big Papi comes calling:

Red Sox fans are hoping this will be especially useful following Ortiz’s late-night playoff heroics this October.
