Mets go Disney -- Well, Yoenis Cespedes does
As a Mets fan who recently just got back from Disney World, Yoenis Cespedes‘ choice of walk-up song could not come at a better time.
Plus, he’s essentially The Lion King of the Mets right now with the way he’s hitting. It’s just so perfect that our favorite Cuban chose ‘Circle of Life’ as his walk-up song. Literally, the man who had his own song made for him chooses Disney over that. How. Awesome.
In case for whatever reason you have yet to witness this, here you go:

Yes, I know this post is delayed, and yes, I know that you’ve probably already read approximately ten articles on Cespedes walking up to The Lion King — but is this really something you could get enough of?
I don’t think so. At least I know I can’t get enough of it.
When I first heard ‘Circle of Life’ come on at the game I was at on Saturday I’m not going to lie, I thought I was a bit too drunk. It didn’t take until the second time I heard it for me to fully grasp that Cespedes was walking up to Disney.
Am I surprised? No. This is the same guy who rode a horse to Spring Training. There’s probably nothing Cespedes could do that would surprise me, minus stop hitting homers. That would surprise me, and is something I never want to see while he’s on the Mets.
He also hit his 10th inning walk-off homer during Monday night’s game towards a fan dressed as Simba, because Cespedes’ life is a movie and we’re all just witnessing the miracles happen. The media blew up covering that, so this is all I’ll mention of it.
Maybe, if the Mets do make it to the playoffs and go on to win the World Series (ya gotta believe, right?) Disney will make a live action Lion King with Cespedes as Simba or a movie about the Mets themselves. I’ll take either one to be honest.
Also, can we take a look at these lyrics for a second:
It’s the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
That basically summed up means “Ya Gotta Believe.” Yo is telling us to believe…and that he as Simba will get us through this circle of life — I mean season.
