Mets have the greatest bat flip ever, thanks to Asdrubal Cabrera
The Mets won last night.
No one thought it was going to happen. It looked quite gloomy at times, especially when the Phillies took the lead thanks to a three-run homer from Maikel Franco in the top of the eighth inning. The Mets went into the bottom of the ninth inning down 6-4….and Jose Reyes hit a two-run homer to tie the game.
Free baseball, folks!
It looked promising in the bottom of the 10th inning when Lucas Duda came in to pinch-hit. He hit a Duda bomb – that went slightly foul. And by slightly foul, I mean it was less than a foot away from being fair. It was devastating.
And then Asdrubal Cabrera comes up in the 11th inning, and hits a three-run walk-off home run that sent Mets fans everywhere into an ecstatic frenzy.
In case you missed it, or in case you want to relive it, here it is.

Now, let’s just focus on that bat flip.
We all thought that Jose Bautista had the greatest bat flip of all time, but now, there’s this. This would be my pick for the best bat flip ever, and I’m sure it’s many of yours as well.
Let’s take a look at both side by side:

Yup, I know what I’m doing all day today – watching different videos, gifs, and clips of Cabrera’s phenomenal bat flip. Literally the best one I’ve ever seen.
Anyone on the Mets want to take a stab at recreating this? Or taking the title of best bat flip ever? I’m down to see many, many more home runs – I mean bat flips.
