New York Mets starter Steven Matz didn't put on his best performance Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox. He allowed three earned runs -- the first time he's given up more than two since April 11 when he allowed seven -- but he did have a decent game at the plate.
He went 1-for-1 with a sacrifice, and apparently thought he was worthy of hitting cleanup. After tossing a clean fifth inning, Matz ran to the dugout, grabbed his bat and began taking warmup cuts in the on-deck circle. Only, Yoenis Cespedes, the cleanup hitter, was due up.

All Matz could do was laugh. He wasn't just one off in the order ... he was five spots early. Nonetheless, he now boasts a .235 average at the dish with one extra-base hit.
