Mets trying to broker lunch date for Jerry Seinfeld and Cespedes
The New York Mets are playing matchmaker in trying to bring together one of their most famous fans and their popular trade-deadline acquisition.
Comedian Jerry Seinfield and Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes have exchanged Twitter messages since the Mets made a deal for the Cuban outfielder on July 31.
Hey @JerrySeinfeld, @ynscspds wants his next Cuban sandwich to be with you. Let's make this happen! #Mets #LGM pic.twitter.com/M0PFMDzh3k

The latest back-and-forth tweets between the duo focused on the appeal of Cuban sandwiches. Seinfeld tweeted that he loves them and wondered if that held true for Cubans in general. Cespedes responded in the affirmative along with an offer to: "Let's eat one sometime."
The Mets, in an apparent attempt to speed up that process, took to Twitter and posted a photo of Cespedes eating a Cuban sandwich while telling the comedian: "Let's make this happen!"
Cespedes retweeted the posting so he's not playing hard to get.
