Mike Trout is finally moving out of his parents' house
The 2014 American League MVP is taking a big step by moving out of his parent's house.
That's right. Mike Trout, the star center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, had been perfectly content to live with his parents during the offseason even after he signed a six-year, $144.5 million contract extension with the Angels two years ago. But according to a recent interview by BuzzFeed, Trout recently decided it's time to set out on his own.
The center fielder does not plan to go far. BuzzFeed reported Trout will be moving to a 300-acre property just minutes from his parents' home in southern New Jersey.

"It’s just where he wants to be," Trout's father, Jeff Trout, said. "He’s a family guy. He loves his [three-legged] dog. He’s close with his mother. He has a great group of friends here he’s had since he was a little kid. He’s very tight with his brother and sister and he loves his niece and nephew. He grew up fishing and hunting and clamming these woods and these waters."
The BuzzFeed story is an interesting glimpse into Trout's life. The famously quiet Trout apparently still sends signed baseballs from some of MLB's best players home in tube socks, and his All-Star Game MVP Corvette stays in his parents' garage.
The only time Trout tends to make news when not playing baseball is when he makes his occasional cameos on The Weather Channel as an amateur weather enthusiast. Trout even received his very own weather balloon as a gift from TWC meteorologist Jim Cantore.
It sounds like there will be plenty of space for that prized possession on Trout's new property.
