Mookie Betts continues torrid home run tear a day after hitting three
A day after calling his three-homer performance "the best night" of his career, Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts put together another night to remember against the Baltimore Orioles.
After homering in his first three at-bats Tuesday night, Betts got off to another torrid start Wednesday. He homered in his first two at-bats against the Orioles, giving him five homers in his past seven at-bats.
Here's the lead-off blast he hit Wednesday.
And here's the one he crushed in the second inning.
The Orioles walked Betts, who has 14 homers this season, in the third inning with two men on. With how hot he's been the past two games, you can't blame the O's.
The Orioles did get the best of Betts in the sixth inning, as he grounded out to short and then walked him in the eighth.
Betts fell one homer short Tuesday from tying the record for most homers in a game with four and couldn't pull off the feat Wednesday.
One thing's for sure, Betts likes hitting at Camden Yards — "Managing my at-bats well. Just riding the wave," he said after the game — but the Orioles got the last laugh Wednesday, winning 13-9.
