Mr. Belding from 'Saved By the Bell' got ahold of Royals World Series ring
Mr. Belding should not have a World Series ring. This much we know.
There's no reason Dennis Haskins, the actor who played the perpetually put-upon principal of the hit '90s high school sitcom, should have this bauble.
But Mr. Belding has his ways, and he caused more than a couple eyebrows to rise when he tweeted a picture of himself wearing a Kansas City Royals ring on an airplane on Sunday.
Can you say #WorldChampionsRing ? Thx @ZumiZumiZum for letting the wear this! @Royals #2015 #WorldSeriesChamps pic.twitter.com/ZFdxMndLeT

Compounding the weirdness was the Brooklyn Cyclones hat Belding wore in the picture, as the Cyclones, a short-season minor-league affiliate of the New York Mets, are in no way connected to the Royals.
But now, thanks to the ring's owner, we have a better idea regarding why and how the man who shepherded Zach, Slater and the rest of the gang through their turbulent teenage years, came across across this encrusted piece of history.
According to the Kansas City Star's Peter Grathoff, Belding happened upon the ring after running into Kansas City Royals scout Alec Zumwalt at a Chicago airport.
Seeing Belding's Cyclones hat, Zumwalt approached him and struck up a conversation. Zumwalt realized quickly that Mr. Belding was, indeed, a huge baseball fan, and the two hit it off instantly.
Zumwalt told Grathoff about the exchange. Belding wanted to wear the ring, and he allowed it out of his deep abiding respect for the work of our nation's fictional educators.
Can't deny the Belding, guys. If he asks for your jewels, you give up the goods. It's the least you can do for the man who played your mentor on television.
Dan is on Twitter. Give him the loot! Give him the loot!
