WASHINGTON (AP) The Washington Nationals have reinstated third baseman Anthony Rendon from the 10-day disabled list and optioned infielder Adrian Sanchez to Triple-A Syracuse.

Rendon was in Saturday's lineup against the Phillies, batting second behind Bryce Harper.

Rendon missed 19 games with what the team called a contusion to his big toe after fouling a pitch off his foot on April 13.

Manager Dave Martinez said Rendon will wear protective padding over the toe.
