Nice play! Astros owner Jim Crane snares foul ball, gives it to Rangers fan
The first two games of the big Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers series haven't gone the way the Astros would have liked - as they've dropped both contests to fall a half-game behind the Rangers in the AL West.
As MLB.com's Chris Landers noted, Astros team owner Jim Crane was on-hand at Globe Life Park in Arlington on Tuesday night, sitting up close in owner's seats when an Elvis Andrus foul ball came bouncing his way. Naturally, Crane reacted as anybody would: He stood up and made a play for the foul ball, reeling it in with his bare hands:
Of course, he didn't really need the baseball and handed it off to a fan sitting nearby.
Here's a full video highlight showcasing Crane's form and approach as the baseball careened its way toward him:
Crane is quoted as having told MLB.com's Brian McTaggart later in the night that, "I wish it counted for an out. We could have used it in the first [inning]."
