NLCS: Julio Urias to start Game 4 for Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have named 20-year-old rookie sensation Julio Urias the starter for Game 4 of the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers are tied 1-1 with the Chicago Cubs.

Game 4 of the 2016 NLCS is going to be a memorable game for Julio Urias. Not only is he starting his first career postseason game, but he also will be the youngest player in major-league history to do so.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts officially announced Monday during the NLCS workouts in Dodger Stadium that Urias will start Game 4. Urias will be exactly 20 years and 68 days old on Tuesday. Jon Morosi pointed out that this makes him the youngest postseason starter since 1984.

Urias had a slow start to his career this year but picked it up after the All-Star break where he posted a 1.99 ERA in 40 2/3 innings. He also had quite an amazing start against the Chicago Cubs back on August 27. He struck out eight batters and allowed one run through six innings.

Julio Urias also has made a postseason appearance already. In a win-or-go-home Game 5 of the NLDS he pitched two innings allowing only one hit. Maybe Urias will be able to overcome any postseason jitters considering he pitched in a tight spot less than a week ago.

No matter how Urias’s start goes, he will be able to gladly hold that he set an MLB record. This season is already unbelievable for the young star, but it isn’t over yet. Now we wait and see he can keep cementing quite the name for himself with a solid performance on one of the biggest stages in baseball.
