Noah Syndergaard as a cartoon is as cool as you think he'd be
It’s the Mets’ ace as you’ve never seen him
We all know that Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard has a lightning bolt for a right arm, we know his alter-ego is Thor, and we know how funny he can be. But now, he’s been turned into a cartoon.
Syndergaard, Chris Archer of the Rays, Adam Jones of the Orioles, Jose Altuve of the Astros, and David Price of the Red Sox will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Uncle Grandpa on the Cartoon Network.
Check out a clip:
Thor, who towers over the other players — especially Jose Altuve, obviously — is introduced last and looks quite awesome in cartoon form.
It’s fitting that he’s introduced as the “powerhouse pitcher that his fans call Thor.” Syndergaard then proceeds to sign Thor’s hammer, because of course he does.
Syndergaard isn’t the first Mets player to be turned into a cartoon.
Mets legend Darryl Strawberry appeared on one of the most infamous episodes of The Simpsons ever. That episode, ‘Homer at the Bat,’ aired in February of 1992.
By that time, Strawberry was a member of the Dodgers. But it was still awesome to see him on the show:
As far as Syndergaard goes, we wonder what he’ll be up to between now and the time Spring Training kicks off in about four months.
He obviously has comedic talent, which he’s displayed in the Amazin’ Life videos and now on Uncle Grandpa. Perhaps an appearance on Saturday Night Live should be next up for him?
It might be too early to think about Syndergaard hosting SNL, but if he continues on the trajectory he’s on, he should get to that status sooner rather than later.
