Noah Syndergaard credits the most obvious teammate for his 2-HR night

Just hours after Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer tied a Major League Baseball record with 20 strikeouts, New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard went deep twice and drove in all four runs in a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Clearly, Syndergaard was inspired by his division rival, right? Wrong.

After his two-homer slugfest, Thor credited another two-way threat from his own rotation:

Bartolo Colon, of course, clubbed his first career homer on Saturday, resulting in mass hysteria and a 31-second home run "trot."

For the record, Yoenis Cespedes still leads the Mets with 11 homers.
