Padres' catcher Hedges hits first career home run

Published Jun. 17, 2015 3:13 p.m. ET

A couple of Padres hit their first home runs this season on Tuesday. Rookie catcher Austin Hedges hit his first major league home run -- a solo shot in the third inning. Veteran outfielder Matt Kemp’s homer in the eighth inning was his third of the season, but his first at home.

The fan who caught Hedges’ home run ball gave it back, but not before some negotiation. He’s actually a Reds fan.
