Padres reportedly shopping top outfield prospects
The San Diego Padres have been relatively quiet at this year's Winter Meetings, but there have been no shortage of rumors surrounding the team's openness to trades this offseason.
After trading infielder Jedd Gyorko to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for outfielder Jon Jay, the Padres are reportedly shopping outfield prospects Travis Jankowski and Hunter Renfroe, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Renfroe, a power-hitting righty, ranks second overall in the Padres' organization, according to MLB.com's prospect list, and Jankowski, a speedy lefty, ranks seventh.
The report adds that the Padres are also listening to inquiries about starters James Shields, Tyson Ross, and Andrew Cashner, who currently hold the top three spots in San Diego's rotation.
"One source said the Padres have been particularly aggressive about pushing Cashner's name in conversations," the report specifies.
