Paul Goldschmidt sliced a foul ball that broke a Pirates dugout phone

Arizona Diamondbacks slugger Paul Goldschmidt sliced a wake-me-up into the Pittsburgh Pirates dugout during the top of the third on Wednesday, claiming one casualty -- a dugout phone.

The Goldschmidt cut off Jeff Locke, which looks like my golf swing at the end of a round, pulls the ball way left and if you listen in the video (above) you can hear the collision and the "ohhhs."

Fortunately starting pitcher and repairman Gerrit Cole was on hand to provide some cosmetic work. And manager Clint Hurdle used another phone to dial up support.

As for the phone, we know from David Ortiz's outburst last year that there are worse fates.
