Petition calls for Bob Uecker to replace Joe Buck for World Series broadcast
An online petition is calling for Bob Uecker to replace Joe Buck as one of FOX's announcers for the World Series broadcast between the Cleveland Indians and the New York Mets.
Uecker played an Indians announcer in the 1989 film "Major League" in which the Indians win the American League pennant. In real life, he serves as the longtime voice of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The petition on Change.org has more than 34,000 signatures as of Monday afternoon. The reason for change is no more than 57 words.
Buck welcomed the idea on Twitter.
Nothing would make me happier than to have Uecker in the booth. https://t.co/BWnpitDmGL

“Bob Uecker is Bob Uecker - a national treasure. And his portrayal of an Indians broadcaster in the movie "Major League" is all-time great,” the petition reads. “Replacing Joe Buck with Uecker would put one of the truly great entertainers in the game on its biggest stage.”
