In three starts at first base since Yonder Alonso went on the disabled list, Wil Myers has handled himself well.

Padres writer Bill Center had the following to say:

“Myers has handled almost 40 chances flawlessly, including making plays on high and low throws, making a diving stop and making a flip to pitcher covering first on a ball hit to the right side.”

The adjustment to a new position didn’t seem to affect his offense. He had seven hits in 14 at-bats including a home run and three doubles.

In fact, Myers hasn’t been fazed offensively all season desire adjusting to playing center field this year after being in right last season. He’s also had to adjust to hitting leadoff. In 134 at-bats, the 24-year-old is hitting .291 with five homers and 19 RBIs.
