Gimenez was on the Rangers' Opening Day roster last season after being acquired on a waiver claim from Oakland in late March, then was traded to Cleveland in August. The catcher combined to hit .241 with 11 RBI in 42 games for the Rangers and Indians last season.

Martinez had a 6.38 ERA in seven relief appearances for the Houston Astros the past two seasons. He went 5-6 with a 5.64 ERA and started in 13 of his 22 appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City last season.
