The Rangers released this statement Friday morning:
The Dallas Morning News notes that Jeffress, 28, was suspended three times for positive drug tests as a minor leaguer, with the most recent positive test resulting in a 100-game ban in 2009.
Acquired from the Brewers on Aug. 1, Jeffress has allowed four earned runs in nine innings with the Rangers. Prior to the trade, the right-hander had a 2.22 ERA and 27 saves for Milwaukee.
