Rays' Kiermaier tries to rob HR ball that lands 30 feet before fence

Whoops!

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier scaled the fence at Tropicana Field, looking to rob a home run from Kansas City Royals slugger Kendrys Morales, but the ball landed a few feet short.

The play looks hilarious, but in reality the ball hit the catwalk and dropped in the field.

After video review the umpires granted Morales a home run. If only Kiermaier could have scaled the catwalk instead.

"I was confused in a couple of ways," Morales said through an interpreter. "I didn't think I hit the ball that well, and I didn't see where it actually hit."
