Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has had his suspension reduced from two games to one and will serve that suspension Friday, the team announced.
Votto was disciplined for his actions after being ejected by home-plate umpire Bill Welke during a game on Sept. 9.
The 32-year-old later claimed the incident stemmed from Welke's refusal to grant him timeout, though he also admitted he overreacted.
