Published Jul. 17, 2015 6:47 p.m. ET

With the trade deadline only two weeks away, the New York Mets are reportedly showing interest in a pair of outfielders who could add some much-needed pop to their struggling offense.

According to CBS Sports, the Mets "will be aiming high on the offensive front" as the deadline nears and are showing interest in San Diego Padres left fielder and Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez to help bolster their offense.

Both outfielders have put up steady power numbers so far this season, as Upton is hitting .253/.331./.422 with 14 home runs and 48 RBI, and Gomez is hitting .273/.322/.450 with eight home runs and 41 RBI.

The Mets' leading run producers, first baseman Lucas Duda and infielder Wilmer Flores, are tied with 38 RBI, and New York ranks 28th in MLB in runs scored this season with 310, a rate of 3.5 per game.
