Report: Mets interested in Yoenis Cespedes

Published Jul. 26, 2015 4:53 p.m. ET

The New York Mets have recently added Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson from the Atlanta Braves, but have reportedly targeted Yoenis Cespedes of the Detroit Tigers.

According to Newsday, the Mets have a few bats on their wish list, including Troy Tulowitzki, Justin Upton and Cespedes.

Cespedes is the most intriguing name on that list, as the Tigers aren't clear-cut sellers. Heading into Sunday's games, the team sat one game under .500 (48-49), but just four games back of the second-place wild card.

Cespedes is a free agent at the end of this season.
