Report: White Sox talking to 'big three' outfielders, but nothing close
While the free agent pitching market has stayed hot, the position player market has been somewhat slow.
David Price, Zack Greinke, Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija, Hisashi Iwakuma and Scott Kazmir have all signed. But the only big name out of the everyday players to sign was Jason Heyward with the Chicago Cubs.
Many expected that after Heyward left the open market, other pieces would fall in, but that has yet to happen.
When that does happen, however, the Chicago White Sox could be right in the thick of it.
According to a report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Chicago has spoken to the big three remaining outfielders (Yoenis Cespedes, Alex Gordon and Justin Upton):
The #WhiteSox have had dialogue w the 3 big OF left in FA market but not close to a deal with anyone.

He goes on to not that nothing is close at this time.
On Tuesday, it was reported that the market for Cespedes is coming together, with the White Sox and Baltimore Orioles leading the pack.
After acquiring infield pieces in Brett Lawrie and Todd Frazier, it seems as though the Sox are aiming to win now.
All three of these players would have an immediate impact on the team, both in the lineup and with roster flexibility. Adding a corner outfielder would allow the team to deal Avasail Garcia, Melky Cabrera or Adam LaRoche to shore up other needs on the roster.
