Report: Zack Greinke seeking $30 million per year in free agency
After opting out of his contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, right-hander Zack Greinke is reportedly seeking a premium contract after a terrific 2015 season.
According to an ESPN report, Greinke aims to land a contract worth $30 million annually in free agency.

The righty is coming off a stellar season in which he posted a 19-3 record with a 1.66 ERA and 200 strikeouts against 40 walks in 222 2/3 innings, which slotted him second in the NL Cy Young Award voting behind Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta.
In his three seasons with the Dodgers, in which he compiled a 51-15 record with a 2.30 ERA, Greinke made an average of $23.33 million per season.
As noted in the report, Greinke's age of 32 makes the length of his forthcoming contract an issue to potential suitors, as pitchers typically experience significant attrition in their late-30s.
The Dodgers and rival San Francisco Giants, who are both seeking to bolster their rotations this offseason, are said to be in closest contention to sign Greinke.
