Rockies' Nolan Arenado calls Giants manager Bruce Bochy 'intense and intimidating'
Bruce Bochy might be one of the most mild-mannered managers in baseball right now, though maybe not to a 24-year-old major leaguer. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado called Bochy “an intense and intimidating guy.”
With the Rockies in San Francisco over the weekend, the third baseman was asked whether he had approached Bochy -- the National League’s All-Star manager this year -- about a position on the team. Arenado elaborated on why he thought of Bochy that way:
“You see him over there, he gets upset about calls and stuff. Good man. He knows what he’s doing out there.”
Three World Series victories in five years would make you think he knows what’s he’s doing. If he does (and he probably does) Bochy will surely pick Arenado -- arguably the best third baseman in the game right now.
