Rosenthal: Are Dodgers stockpiling talent for run at Marlins' Fernandez?
The Los Angeles Dodgers collected several more prospects in Wednesday's three-way trade that also sent third baseman Todd Frazier from the Cincinnati Reds to the Chicago White Sox.
Almost immediately after the trade was announced, speculation began about whether the Dodgers would try to package any of their new prospects (right-hander Frankie Montas, outfielder Trayce Thompson, second baseman Micah Johnson) in a deal for Miami Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez.
Fernandez was the subject of much trade talk during last week's Winter Meetings, but the consensus was that the Marlins wanted a huge return for their ace.
The speculation about #Dodgers going after Jose Fernandez is natural and legitimate. Tons of young players; #Marlins can pick and choose.

#Dodgers also can go in any number of other directions. They’ve got prospects and money. As I wrote yesterday, they’re just getting started.

One thing about #Dodgers: Their continued amassing of young talent easily could lead to other moves to strengthen the team for 2016.
