Scott Feldman just had the worst and weirdest trade deadline experience
Scott Feldman began Monday with the Astros and ended it by serving up the game-winning hit to the Astros. Huh?
Feldman was dealt from Houston to Toronto prior to Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline, and he didn’t get much time to unpack. Although most players get a day or two to report to their new team, Feldman merely had to switch clubhouses at Minute Maid Park because the Blue Jays were in town.
Still, it seemed unlikely that he’d be called into action so quickly, especially after he threw 38 pitches in relief on Sunday night for the Astros. But when Monday night’s game reached the 14th inning, there was Feldman on the mound -- facing his former teammates.
And he was greeted very rudely. Jose Altuve led off with a single, and Carlos Correa then hit a walk-off double to give Houston the 2-1 win. Four pitches, one loss.
What can’t he do? @TeamCJCorrea doubled in the winning run for the #Astros victory!https://t.co/yJzbNrnLax

"It's somewhat uncomfortable," Astros manager A.J. Hinch afterward, per the Blue Jays’ website. "A few hours ago, he's in our clubhouse and a big part of our chemistry and our culture and then we walk him off. Obviously, as competitors, as soon as he changes uniforms, you change your affection for that guy, but I legitimately have some weird feelings about seeing him on the other side."
