Seinfeld, Mets' Yoenis Cespedes continue to build Twitter friendship
Jerry Seinfeld may be unwilling to settle for "A Cespedes for the rest of us." He appears to be bent on carving out his own friendship with New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.
Seinfeld and Cespedes continue to exchange Twitter postings after the comedian spoofed a famous line - "A Festivus for the rest of us!" - from his former hit show moments after the Mets acquired the Cuban outfielder from the Detroit Tigers at last week's trade deadline.
Cespedes eventually responded to Seinfeld with a tweet telling the comedian he hopes to see him at a game soon. That prompted another Twitter posting from Seinfeld, who lauded the player's prowess on the field before veering off into Cuban culinary habits.
The Mets are unbeaten (6-0) since acquiring Cespedes, who is now on deck in the tweet-fest with Seinfeld.
Oh my god. @Mets I can't believe I can actually say this, but is it true that there is now "A Cespedis for the rest of us"? #mets #T7L
